The sub-Saharan Africa network on Agricultural Advisory Services (SSANAAS) is a not-for –profit regional organisation whose aim is the enhancement of rural livelihoods through improved provision of agricultural advisory services. Governance of the Network is provided through the SSANAAS Council and backstopping support by a technical Working Group composed of practitioners in Agricultural Advisory Services (AAS) representing various stakeholder groups. The network is supported by a secretariat housed in Kampala, Uganda. In pursuit of its objectives, the Network collaborates with various institutions and organisations such as the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) and its sub-regional organisations, and Sasakawa Africa Association among others. The mission of the network is to “promote lesson learning and add value to initiatives in agricultural advisory services through sharing of information and increased professional interaction”.
