It operates under the African Union (AU) – New Partnership for African Development (NEPAD) Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Program (CAADP). AFAAS works with the continental and regional research and development institutions. The S3A encompasses the science, technology, extension, innovations, policy and social learning Africa needs to apply in order to meet its evolving agricultural development goals and this is championed by FARA and AFAAS has a key role to play.
